EAGLES RUGBY CLUB AND ITS HIGH PERFORMANCE WAREHOUSE FITNESS CENTER

Officially launched on the 15th March 2018, the WAREHOUSE High Performance Training Centre at Eagles Rugby Club Sandakan boasts some of the highest quality equipment currently available for every aspect of fitness and cross-training.

The state-of-art equipment pampers all fitness enthusiasts with unprecedented user-friendly features to take fitness and sports training to new heights of convenience and effectiveness.

The HP Warehouse Training Center located within the Eagles Rugby Club’s Sports Arena Complex is housed in one imposingly immense structure designed and purpose-built for fitness training. In addition to cross-fitness training equipment, there is a cardio room, circuit training equipment, weight training stations, free weights and stretching areas. Group exercise sessions are held there on a regular basis conducted by trained fitness personnel.

It is be the perfect complement to the Eagles Sports Arena and will facilitate a variety of physical training programmes during rugby courses such as those conducted by the Sir Gordon Tietjens Eagles Rugby Academy.

This is a huge step towards realizing Eagles Rugby Club’s aim to provide world class training courses and workshops at affordable costs. ERC aims to be a major player towards development of the game in this region.

ERC has the right of use and management of an imposing clubhouse building, rugby pitches and other facilities built on six acres of prime land located at Eagles Avenue, Bandar Utama, Mile 6, Jalan Utara, Sandakan.

It is one of the very few sports facilities, if not the only one, in Malaysia that was planned, designed and purpose-built specifically with the game of rugby in mind. In short, the club building, amenities and the pitches are all ‘rugby-centric’.

The clubhouse has other facilities like an international sized futsal court nestled conveniently beside a cosy Sunset Bar, a pool table, table tennis tables, table soccer and dart boards for members to enjoy.

There is also a four storey building which houses a dormitory capable of accommodating up to 60 players in comfort. It especially benefits school children coming from the rural areas to take part in rugby training or tournaments held in Sandakan. Within this building are individual rooms for coaches and a canteen for convenience.

That Asia Rugby President Aga Hussain on a visit to ERC has described the set-up as “second to none in Asia” says it all.
